9800 Pro, although the added RAM isnt really worth the money over the 128mb card IMO

Radeon 9800 pro. After all - Dawn is nice an all - but that gargoyle and the gargoyle screensaver is SOO much cooler!!

Then again the 5900 does have Cg going for it - even though nothing uses it yet, it looks promising, and I wouldn't be suprised if next gen Radeon's implemented it too.

It's kinda sad, I think nVidia really dropped the ball on this FX generation. I hope it doesn't hut them too bad in the long run

If only for the competition. A one horse race isn't much fun for us consumers.

The 5900 FX is my bet, the fastest card out there. They are both about the same but the 5900 FX has an advantage speed wise. And most of those features that the 9800 Pro is faster in than the 5900 FX wont be turned on anyway. The 5900 FX beats out the 9800 Pro hands down at high resolutions, and even the 5800 sometimes beats the 9800 Pro. And no one can say that the 9800 Pro is cheaper beacuse it really isnt. Everyone always is talking about how much cheaper Radeons are. Right now the 9800 Pro 256MB is $441 and the 5900 FX 256MB is $408. So you take your pick.

    Just my take on things.

    Maybe for you Brits!

    $408 - GeForce FX 5900 256MB

    $440 RADEON 9800 Pro 256MB

    http://www.pricewatch.com/menus/m37.htm

But both cards are nice, but I, for one, would take the cheaper (and IMO better) card.

    geforce fx 5900 499$
    (U.S.)

the ati radeon 9800 pro is really cheap compared to that expensive vacuum cleaner that wont be able to play half-life2 WITH ANTI ALIAS!!!!!!

and btw ati doesnt use tricks to manipulate benchmarking programs

the FX5900 does not use the same cooling aparatus as the FX5800. I haven't heard the 5900, but it looks like any normal hsf, only bigger. No wind-tunnelness like with the 5800, it seems.
