    Radlinker/radeon 9600PRO

hello everybody im currently running a BBA ati radeon 9600 PRO 128mb and using Radlinker

    Core:398.25
    Memory: 297.00

i want to overclock it and i want to know whats a safe core and memory clock.

also do i go up both core and memory or just do 1 at a time.

im really new at overclocking video cards, and i dont know really what to do

oh and also do i have to do something with the voltage?

Didn't see this on before responding to the other one. OH well.

On my Radeon 7000 I had to keep the core and memory synced, evidently they don't do that now. Any way I would slide both up about 5 Mhz at a time and see how it goes. when it chokes back it off a notch or 2 then do one at a time to see how far you can go before it chokes again. Don't think messing with voltage is a good Idea, I don't think it's even possible.

Sometimes it takes quite awhile before getting a response. You're not being ignored or anything, I was probably just the first one to see your question that had an answer for you.

Sorry, been out for a while.
by choke I mean the video has lots of artifacts, snow, weird lines, etc, or is unviewable altogether. The last would mean that you would need to go to safe mode to set it back a notch. as far as running a game, that is what I do. What I do is OC until I get artifacts or crash then back it down and try a game. If the game crashes then you need to make more adjustments.

    Hi mate,
bare in mind that yuo won't be clocking the core too much... that can often lead to problems. Also, reboot after each clocking, otherwise it won't actually change so you will be sliding them up and testing going "woooo no problems" and in reality, it wont have change

What I do to test is, run 3dmark 03, and as soon as it goes spazzed out, I ctrl-alt-del to the taskman window, which causes 3dmark to stop as the window loses focus.... then I underclock and reboot

    Good luck, have fun
    Eh?

no no, feel free to o/c the core, but stick to something very low, like a maximum of 10 - 15mhz... Bigjakstaffa is the one to ask about this stuff, but just remember, clock higher in VERY small increments, there is NO rush!
