What's the new OS from MS going to be?

I heard Longhorn? What is it? Any details? I heard a different file system.
I run XP pro with all updates and it is good enough for now. Just wondering how they were planning on improving.

Not that one. A consumer level based OS.

I always get confused on the naming of MS products..Is win2003 meant for business(server) and longhorn a home user product???..I wish that **** Gates would name his OS in a logical usefull manner..

What is wrong with the XP GUI? You can change it. I think people love to complain about Microsoft, Windows and Bill Gates for no other reason then it is popular to do. I for one am sick of it.

If it isnt Bill Gates' best friend back again

Personally i dont like the big fluffy pre-schooler interface, XP was supposed to be a revolutionary look, instead it turned out looking like an educational toy for preschoolers. In contrast even Linux looks much nicer. Yes you can return it to the classic look and i suppose thats okay, personally i imported a load of hacked .dll files and im now running XP with the entire MACOSX front end. If MS could make a GUI that looked half as good as the latest mac offerings they would be onto something very good indeed

Yes you can switch to Classical mode...Just a thought, maybe if Bill Gates actually ASKED the consumer what they wanted then maybe there would be less complaining..

Why stick with classic or fischer price themes. Just patch XP and you can use 3rd party themes w/o having to run one of the various theme apps.
