very difficult to point out just one....

    I like:

Windows Media player 8 for mpeg/dat/mpg/wmv/asf/avi

    Divx player for Divx(avi)

    real player basic for ra*

Quicktime for those Qt/mov types but i rarely use Qucktime its always either Divx player or Wmp

The one supplied with ATI graphics cards is absolutely superb - plays everything msoft and others cant and rarely crashes with corrupt avi files , divx etc.

ATI MMC - Multi media console!!!

    BsPlayer! www.bsplayer.org

It is a really small and good player. With this player you can run DivX movies on old AMD K6 machines, that dont usualy run with media player, or any other.

Great options for the player! (like subtitels, wide screen, languages etc.)

for all my vid needs, Winamp has to be the best

    (--kidding )

I lost a lot of pre-inst. when I totalled my BIOS, so now my favourite DVD player is UltraDVD (or is it SUPER - dunno, but they obviously think it's great ) which I got as a free DL from www.tucows.com It's got a free trial of their DVD to AVI converter - which is only supposed to last for 10 mins, but if you choose 'Debug' and let the app run thru...

Really ND - It doesnt perform like either of those.

I thought the new ATI MMC 7.X had been totally re-engineered to compete with the likes of Cyberlink and WinDVD???

As I said it works better for me as I play a lot of Divx xvid , intel536 stuff and plays corrupted files whilst powerdvd , divx pro wont play em!!!
