Omni antenna needed for my wap
I want more coverage from my Linksys BEFW11S4. I have been searching and found the Pringles can which is directional and antennas on the receiving end. I would like to build an omni-directional antenna to attach to my wap to get better coverage in and around the house. Any ideas?

ok back.
you didn't say 1000 ft in the first post.
I just did a google search on wireless antenna:

You can always buy one, depending on what you are looking for.

Doesn't connect to a WAP just on the receiving end. Sort of silly having a large antenna like that on my PDA.

if the pda's antenna isn't strong enough, it doesn't really matter how powerful the WAP's antenna is.

Best bet is to buy decent wireless for your pda - one with dual antenna get a better signal - probably using a cheapo with the aerial retracted?
Youd be better increasing the power of your wap - not a job for the fainthearted or weak of soldering iron wrist!!!
Go on give it a shoogle - you know you want to !!!
Sheez Im losing it - think im coming down witha case of overposting!!!!

I also want to share my ISP with my neighbors. Can't I boost the signal from the wap (besides the available Linksys sig booster) Instead of changing the antenna on all of my other devices? I understand my neighbor might have to change his antenna. Boost the output is what I want.

dunno if you really want to do that. some ISPs won't allow it.
you could also buy a better antenna set. you originally said you wanted to build one.

the bottom line is that if the client side antenna aren't strong enough, then it won't matter what kind of booster you have.

Did I say share my ISP? I actually want to allow my neighbor on my LAN for gaming purposes.
