sounds like you are having dns issues. what does your system show when you run winipcfg or ipconfig?
btw, it would help to tell what kind of hardware and operating system you are running.

sorry about that...
im using the dell 1180 USB wireless network adapter and the 1148 dell wireless router. and im running win98.
for the wireless adapter it lists the adapter address, then the IP which is 192.168.2.3 (obviously its on the home network) and then it lists the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 but there is no gateway.
when i plug in the network cables between my network card and the router it lists everything the same except for the IP which is 2.2 and the gateway which is 192.168.2.1 (the router)
i just tried accessing the router with the wireless network card and i cant even do that when typing it out in the address bar.

the gateway address should be the router itself.
did you set the IPs manually or let the router do dhcp?

run winipcfg to release and renew the IP of the computers. make sure the gateway address is there.
check that the router is getting an ip from the cable modem. you can unplug/turn off both the router and cable modem. power up the cable modem first, then the router. use the router utility to check the configuration again.
you need to have a gateway or the computer will never be able to access outside of the lan.

Go to the dos prompt and ping a well known website.

Is it an old card or a new one?

with dhcp now enabled.
type
ipconfig /release
then ipconfig /renew
failing that switch everything off then back on and reboot your machine (solves 70% of all techy problems) - that should fix it.

why don't you just disable the other network card?
run winipcfg again then release all and renew all. make sure your wireless adaptor has the gateway.
