    Outpost;
    You can set it to block pop-ups and ads etc. which seems to be what you are looking for.

    I use the free firewall Zone alarm (checks both directions)
    Plus Router s/w (I use Linksys) for NAT and firewall
    Plus spyware checkers (I use Adaware) (you will be surprized at the number of them)
    Plus good virus scanner (updated monthly or weekly)
    Plus as many other layers that you can get you hands on. The more the merrier and better.

    ZA is a decent enough firewall but it seems to be quite 'big' in terms of resources compared to other firewalls (at least it was last i used it), and ive also had nothing but trouble when trying to network with it, as such i never reccomend it

    If you won't be networking any PCs together than Outpost is the best choice imo.

    I prefer the combo that Symantec dishes out.

    Get Norton Internet Security 2003. It takes care of ads, it includes their antivirus, and they firewall. Also comes with a monitor that blocks out porn and adult related sites. I install this bundle to every pc that I build, never had any complaints from it.

    if you look at the user to user section of many forums, you can get it for $15+ shipping worth every penny.

    Kerio is very good but is not for newbies. You must know how to create rules properly.

    The default rules that come with Kerio are fairly loose. It's best to remove them all and set up your own rules from scratch. If you don't know a bit about setting up rules you may end up with several holes in your protection.

    Here is an excellent forum to help you with rules for Kerio.
