    can't split cable modem line

I wanted to split the coax line that comes into my cable modem, but every time I do my cable modem loses the connection after a while. The idea was to have one of the splits go to my TV and the other to the cable modem & router.

I suppose it may be noise related? Perhaps someone knows what's up with this.. the coax comes straight from the wall and only splits one time... I'm using the small, metal T-connectors from Radio-Shaq to do the split.

    thanks in advance,

You'll need to take it off the other split so there isn't as much lose on that line. Had the same situation once and found out that resetting the modem was a pain. Forgot all about the splitter that was behind the dry wall. Still don't know how I forgot about that!!!

The splitter must be rated at a certain frequency and be up to quality. You can call your provider and ask - they will tell you what to get.
