Next Windows OS Changes File System

    Cool.

If this means more stable then it'll be great. I wonder what else this means for the next Windows....(M$ will be watching you)

What are the other advantages? disadvantages?

it's just another big plan to take over the world

and more open holes for hackers

and wasting all the 64bit power of the new 64bit CPUs

Overall FAT32 is still and will remain my Favorite File System for a long long time to come

    Woah...

    OK..

When I first glanced over that it seemed to read "Windows Futile Storage..."

    Be forewarned

"more reliable and more stable operating system."

that was the promise with ntfs.

If it in any way, shape or form has its roots in NTFS then it cannot be relied upon.

The only thing I like about NFTS is the encryptability and ability to address >4GB files. Otherwise it's another M$ mound of ****.

I doubt the new OS from M$ is leaked out, but rather a early beta release. It's their way of easing the new OS into everyones mind, Wallet and pc.

Not exactly. Ten times with the same hardware. IF you add, say, an HDD that count drops to three.

And if you swap an HDD controller/hot-swap an HDD after activating you have to call in AGAIN within three days!

Me, personally, I like... erm.... "corporate" edition

See Bill has a cunning plan.

FIRST he gets the new file system on everyone's systems.

SECOND he buys the entire membership of the RIAA and MPAA

THIRD he takes the mandatory financial information which the new version of Windows will require and charges everyone a use fee for all the mp3s and movies on their HD's because they cannot prove they originally bought them in that format. Since the new version of Windows will let MS automatically debit any and all accounts he'll be even richer.
