    win 2k3 and games

    does anyone here know what tweaks i need to allow win 2k3 to play games? I heard something about win2k3 disabling directx 9 and other features required to install drivers and play games. Thanks for any help.

    Windows Server 2003 does by default disable hardware acceleration of the video card and it also disables DirectX.

    You can however easily change that to run just like any other version of XP.

    The real question is: Why would you want to play games on a server? Or why would you install a server OS on a home machine where you want to play games?

    you should just stick to xp pro at the most. server OSes in general have way more overhead than clients. Your computer would be wasting power on services you don't need.
