I think you may be confused. The "General Tech Discussion" forum is for just that. A few years ago the tech forum was used as a general forum. This is a anything goes forum as long as there is no flaming. It has been since the day of it's creation!

I come here for tech, and tech is what I want to see here. Jokes and off-topics in Community is a nice thing when you need to take a break from tech, but please keep all the politics bs outta here.

I agree that politics should be kept away from a tech-community but it still good to allow you to talk about it amongst people that you "know", this is one of the only boards that I frequent and I found it interesting to see what some people thought.
