Need primer on server setup
Looking for information on the advantages of setting up a server for home networking. How the server would be set up, and any special software.
Currently running a seven computer network with internet access through a router. One of the computers is a Dual XP2200+ with XP Pro installed and 2 - 60 gig hard-drives and 1 gig of Ram.
Really don't have any idea how this would be used to best advantage.
Thanks

Mod w/ an attitude
Gee RampageIII, you sound like me at home.
I have 3 servers running in a 7 computer network with only 3 users. I keep 5 systems all to myself for network learning. Two systems are Server 2003 RD2 and one is Win2K Advanced Server. One of the servers is running Active Directory. The only thing I use is user logon, printer sharing, and file sharing.
Lots of fun but lots of work if you do it right.
Pick up the Mark Minassi series books on Mastering Winndows 2000 for additional info.

Thanks Sterl,
I do have 5 users on the network, so it's not all that bad.
I'll check into the reading material for starters.
