Smelly Juror Aborts Trial

A smelly juror has forced a judge to abandon a Crown Court blackmail trial after two other jurors said they just could not stand it anymore.

Two jurors complained about their colleague's "personal hygiene" problem within an hour of the trial getting started, The Sun reported.

They told court staff about their concerns during the lunch break.

When the hearing resumed for the afternoon Judge Carole Hagen told the barristers in the case about the problem.

She said: "Two jurors have complained about, how shall I put it, the personal hygiene of one sitting next to them.



"It seems to me, and this is my personal view, entirely unreasonable to expect any citizen to have to contend with that for two to three days."

Judge Hagen told the jury: "I have been discussing something with both counsel.

"The consequences of that are that I am going to discharge you from trying this case. The reason is something which should not trouble you."

She sent the jurors home.

The blackmail trial will get a new jury.

I can't drink much right now either. I did Saturday but I have to stop takin me pain pills to drink. Beer ain't much of a pain killer and I don't like to drink liquor too often. Makes me nutz, I take back fings I never filched when I drinks real booze.
