VIA Steps Up With 1GHz C3

Oh lord! I can't believe that thing is till kicking. I thought it was squashed by Intel's big **** foot. Sheesh. I remember reading on game labels, "This game will work on all platforms, excluding Cyrix based chips" hehehe.
So they've hit the big 1.0 now. Woohoo.
Nice find!

If the Athlon didn't beat the P4 almost hands down at equal clock speeds I think Jerry Sanders would come out of retirement to shoot the entire R&D team.
The Athlon was designed to have more brute power than any other x86 chip, the P4 to scale higher than any other x86 chip. Wonder of wonders they both do just that.
Aren't good engineers useful?
"Dude you're getting a Dell." Obscure curse from the early 21st Century, ascribed to a minor demon-spirit known as "Stephen?" [sp].

This reminds me of C&C Generals... Intel is China, for masses of troops...and AMD is America for brute force and strength. Yay.
Been playing too much, eh?

true true
using china you can over run the entire city EASY with pure troopers
and those Healing Troopers APCs
i'm still trying to balance the Auto Repair feature of the America vs the Massive amount of FREE units of China

They are pretty even right now. AMD has speeded up the progression of PC's by a factor of ten by competing with Intel. Remember when Intel would sit on the next speed jump (266 to 300 for instance) until they were darn good and ready to offer it? That, and the fact that Intel has made some of the STUPIDEST commercials ever, give the edge to AMD in my mind.

it does not matter HOW you get to stellar performance, so long as you get there
Superb. Here's a pastry. *hands AlexGee a raspberry filled danish*.
This is perhaps the most perfectly articulated method of saying it. This one's going into my Core Values of ßeeßleqµix.
