"Dude you're getting a Dell." Obscure curse from the early 21st Century, ascribed to a minor demon-spirit known as "Stephen?" [sp].

Just saw some scores on a PNY GeforceFX 5800 ultra 500/1000 stock clock...3d 2003 5000+....3d 2001 13000
Not that great not sure if it could even take down a 9700?
I guess I'll keep waiting for Leadtec.....They sent me e-mail last week saying they are currently testing the 5800 ultra......soooon I hope.
No fighting please have both
Leadtek ti 4600 in the P4
ATI 9700 in the 2700

The FX's (5800Ultra) are slightly faster than the r9700's from what i have seen, but not substanitally enough to warrant the large price jump. Anything lower than the top end fx though really aint too impressive

Have a Q
My P4@3634 scores 1850-1970 3dmark 2003 (HT enabled) winXP sp1
My 2700@2548 scores 4780-4819 3dmark 2003 win2K sp3
I know it just can't be the 9700?
The P4 does a little better in win2K (no ht) but not much.
any ideas?

Yes it is becasue of the Radeon9700. Its becasue 3DMark is a direct x 9 benchmark, and the 9700 is a DX9 vidoe card, the geforce4 ti 4600 is a DX8 video card

Poor guy's so mortified, he double-posted in his grief... And I thought I was the only one who beat on my mouse in frustration.
