It's weird, but my 6800GT core speed max went down, while the memory went up. At 423/1200, I get 13147.

In a lot of scenario's having faster memory is more beneficial than having a faster core. (e..g. its better performance wise to have a 20Mhz o/c on the memory than it is to have a 30Mhz o/c on the core)

I guess it just depends on the card architecture.

I was worried that overclocking had wrecked my card. I think that if i had damaged the card, then both gpu and memory performance would go down. It's strange that the memory would clock higher after burn-in.

Oh, I also changed the gpu core to Arctic Silver, but that was like the day after I got it.

Just run the test and any advice would be appreciated

    Athlon 2500XP
    512 3200 DDR
    ATI 9600

    3dmark 03: 2415

not really sure if this is a good representation of what the mobo and graphics have to offer

    Hey adi, Welcome to Sysopt!
Is your video card a pro or le or se version? If it is a pro, that score is low.
Are you overclocked on your cpu or video card?
What is your os, mobo, cooling?
A few details from you and we should be able to squeeze some more out of your system for you, if it dosn't get smoked first! (Just kidding)

Check your settings on your vid card. Turn off your AA and AF settings or set for performance. Make sure you have the latest ATI drivers, or at least 4.6. You can also use Radlinker and try oc'ing your card a bit. Though with stock cooling on it, I would be careful not to go too high, though you should be able to get at least 5 to 7% more comfortably.
Next you can try overclocking your cpu. It looks like your mobo supports the 400 fsb. I think this is your mobo here (last one). http://www.optronix.co.uk/acatalog/AMD.html
If so you should be able to get 3200 speed out of it with the cooling you got with little or no problem at all.
I think just doing both of these will get you a pretty good boost alone. Let us know how it goes and if you need tips on how to oc send me a pm.
Remember: push it till you smell the smoke.... if you got the money!
Gotta go, surf is calling, later... dude

cheers for that guys much appreciated. i've set the card for performance though i wasn't sure how to turn the v-sync off. Is it the same as vpu recover in the options?

The mobo linked to is the board i have. How do i go about overclocking the cpu using the 400fsb?

    cheers
