It's a rhetorical question, what can we answer it with?

    "Yes, i agree with you"

"STFU I have no idea wtf you are talking about noobz0r".

There are other ways to answering it like:

no, they are not as similar as you think, ex....

    -or-

I agree with you, but i still think its really fun anyways...

    -or-

    the other way you described

"STFU I have no idea wtf you are talking about noobz0r".

Generals is so different to the other c&c's, but credit to EA/Westwood (watever they're calling themselves) they have done a **** fine job and imo i think the teams are perfectly balanced if you think about it properly..

I love the graphics but its the little tiny things that make me think "wow" (i.e the techicals leaving the floor when they go down a cliff, or rocketmen's rockets flying away when they are hit by a laser)

My online career has started badly with a played 4, lost 4 ratio but im a n00b on it still so

ps sorry if im just repeating things that have already been said in this thread but i didnt read it from page 1, im just saying what i think

    I tried out the game.

Well! I finally tried out the game today and my gameplay returned to Windows immediately. A small error message appeared and told me that an error occurred.

I started out with China and I built up a small army to attack the GLA. I first destroyed the underground tunnel and crossed the bridge. Then a wave of fighters zoomed in to destroy the GLA convoy. After that, my game returned to Windows immediately. I think my PC can't handle such intensive game.

I have posted my PC configuration, right? So pls enlighten me...

    Try dissabling the LOD option

and set it to Low Resolution with 800x600 and see if it works well for you

and i agree with Pentium4Guy this game is SWEEEEET for an RTS, wow, the Graphic and Effects are just Spectacular for a Ground based Sim

usually you can only get this kind of good effects in Space based Sim like Hegemonia and alikes

Heh-I was a big fan of the whole C&C series, until **** went sour.

Anyway, is it really worth my time? I've been playing FPSes since Half-Life (HL was my replacement for the C&C series). Is it going to be worth my time to go back and re-learn all that RTS stuff (I probably couldn't beat my little sister it's been so long since I've played an RTS)? It would take a lot of time for me to catch up, and I don't want to blow all that time and money if I don't have to.

Yap. I set my resolution to 800x600x32 and low detail graphics. Still, the game play is slow and lags. But the cinematics are not laggy. Strange?

    What's your System Spec?

sounds like you need more RAM and a faster CPU

    Graphics Card more like .

Go into options mate, then where it says "low", make it custom, turn everything low/off.

And of course make the standard round of keeping a good clean system: disk clean up -->spyware/scumware scan --> scan disk --> defrag

    Latest result...

Well! I have done defragmentation (Diskeeper, actually) and scandisk. I even set the gameplay option to low detail. Today, my game just hanged on me. I was about to attack the Hong Kong Convention Center. ****.

Now any other ideas which I can use?

    PC Configuration:

    AMD 1.2 GB Thunderbird Athlon
Hercules 3D Prophet II Ultra 64 MB
    320 MB SDRAM
    SoundBlaster Live 'Value'
    IBM 12 GB harddisk
    Abit KT7E motherboard (Without RAID)

This is a brief specification of my PC.
