Yep, the happy 1700+ T-bred A. Only CPU to beat it in % oc over stock -- the B-cored 2100+.

    How do you do that?
With my XP 2000 the max I have got it up to was to an XP2200 even though I have a copper heatsink.
Because once my comp reaches Xp2300 and i restart it just doesn't boot. I only am using the FSB to overclock.

    Any reasons why?

Yeah.... Your core is a Palomino core most likely.. and the 1700+ he has is a Thoroughbred core. The T-Bred is much better for overclocking.... a cooler core, more voltage manipulation (because of lower default voltage) and multiplier unlocked.

You might be able to hit 2GHz on a pally at 2.2v.

Alex - where in Oz are you?
if you want a T-Bred so you can get higher OCs, then the 1700+ retails for around $125 (AU) at many stores online.
i bought one to replace my Palomin core just so i could overclock much higher... you could probably even sell your 2000+ and get a 1700+ and either break even or even have left over cash at the end.

I'm living in Brisbane. Why would I sell my XP 2000 for a 1700 when I could buy a XP 2100 and overclock even futher. Dam this Palomino Core!!!!

Come on folks -- note the high core voltage. It was obviously a pun.

Alex... i would like you to find a T-Bred B in Oz at the moment (i wouldnt mind one either!!)... but seeing as it took a while for the 1700/1800+ T-Bred A's to hit our shelves chances dont look good just right now....
