    Nice.

What heatsink, voltage and core revision?

28c? Unless you have something special for a hsf, that is not right.

28c is entirely feasible. CPU temp is a funtion of Delta ¨T¨, i.e. temp in vs. temp out. I am running an AMD 1700+ at 1900+ at a temp of 31c with an ambient temp of 23c with an OEM f/h. If the ambient is quit low such as is the case in the US right now, it´s entirely possible to see 28c.

Yep, that's Giblet. Stubborn and never satisfied... in a mostly positive sense.

Latter A's of the 17/1800+ speed range are unlocked in any motherboard. The AUIGA stepping is one of them... I was able to achieve 2GHz in an obsolete KT266A 8-KHA+ motherboard!

Yes bill, room temp and air getting in and out are the key to cpu temp, if the hsf is a good one and working. It is still on the low end of believable, so I want to make sure Maestro is looking at the right temp. 28c could easily be his case temp, and the cpu might be frying.

Speedfan is good, but you can't be absolutly sure it is reading the cpu temp instead of system temp. Motherboard Monitor, if it works on your board, identifies the sensors:

    Methinks that's just a really good "A".

I complimented him first, then asked questions, because knowing an OC is useless without knowing about the cooling, voltage and cpu stepping.
