    UT original keeps crashing

    A friend of mine is having a problem with his comp and UT the original version. Every time he tries to run the game it responds with a GPF (Shown in the attached pic).

    System Specs:

    Asus NForce2 Mobo
    Nvidia GForce4 4200 128MB
    Athlon XP 2000+
    512 DDR

    The drivers are the latest off nividia's site and all other games are running smothly. Any tips or sugestions would be apprecheated. Thanks.

    Is it patched up to version 436? if not go to www.megagames.com and download the 436 patch.

    Reinstall it. It probably has lots of mods, skins, models, mutators, etc., that muck up the initialization.

    it has been installed fresh a few times on the comp ( removed compleatly then reinstaled). It has not been patched yet, though. That might help. Thanks.

    If the patch doesn't work, delete the registry keys when you un-install it, then re-install it again.

    run it in Win98 or Win2k

    is WinXP that is having the problem



    maybe try the not really compatible mode

    Not Xp, mines runs perfect good after SP! for XP.But the 436 is a must, hundreds of bug fixes over 400.
