geforce 440mx sux, but this badly?
but first results from SiSoftware Sandra (i know...)
Video Adapter
Model : NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440
Total Memory : 64MB (64MB Video) (62MB AGP)
Texture Memory : 126MB
Supports DIME Texturing : Yes
Video Chipset : RIVA TNT2 Model 64??
RAMDAC Chipset : Integrated RAMDAC
Video BIOS : Version 2.05.1303
VGA Compatible : No
i dont think the g4mx440 uses that does it? if so that is insane. and after just upgrading from the 32mb tnt2 m64 to this 64mb g4mx, tested a couple games and i was extremely disappointed.. nfsHP2 load times were noticeably slugo (installed latest WHQL 4109 drivers) and cstrike frame rates werent any different from before (disabled vsync)

Those are really good marks for a tnt 2!
I'd expect maybe a thousand more for the gf4mx, but don't forget it's basically a gf2mx.
This is where my signature would go if I wasn't so lazy.

If your processor is slow, then it'll hold it back quite a bit.

The Geforce MX line of cards have always been bad, and really horrible for gaming.
If i were you i would save up to get another card that would perform better if you plan on playing games, like:
Geforce 4 Ti4200 128MB RAM,
ATI Radeon 8500
Both good cards, depending on which company you like the most , and with the NV30 coming out soon, a price drop may happen, yet there are a lot of noobs out there who dont know/care that will keep the prices of the cards up .

I think you have a problem with the drivers and the register in Windows. Reinstall the drivers and/or Windows.
Seem like your pc still thinks you have a TNT 2

i have been paying close attention to the 4200s, and wont be purchasing until the FX has been released. i dont think i will go 8500 though, since it is basically just a g3ti200 (maybe 9500/+ if the ati path)

i have already uninstalled drivers and reinstalled with the latest.

That score is about right for a TNT2... remember, he was using 2dmark2k, not 2k1... The GF4 MX should easily outperform any TNT2... I also think you have some driver issues, either chipset or video drivers... I'd start there.

chipset as in bios? i updated that a while back.

I got pie!!!
I would redo the benchmarks using 3d2001 version 330 and that way you should see a noticeable difference.
Life is a bowl of cherries

LOL NO! I have the original Visiontek Geforce3. I have the 8500LE (250/275) and the 8500LE is def. faster. Both in games and 3dmarks. In 3dmark it benches 30% higher. In games about 10fps gain. Sooo its more like = to a G3 ti500 and beats a G3 ti500 in some cases too! Big dif. between a G3 ti200 and a ti500 there. Also the G3 is a dx8 card the 8500 a dx8.1 card.

Uhm ya..i don't know what you're smoking. Before the 9500/9700's, the radeon 8500 is second only to the Geforce4ti line.
