    Radeon 8500 LE 128mb or Radeon 9000 Pro 128mb

    Ok which should i get...
    A Radeon 8500 LE 128mb by Sapphire for $94 from newegg.com
    A Radeon 8500 LE 128mb by Sapphire for $89 from ENPC.com
    A Radeon 9000 Pro 128mb by Sapphire for $98 from GameVE.com
    or
A Radeon 9000 Pro 128mb by Sapphire for $98 from All Star Shop Online

I'm not sure which is better because the Radeon 8500 LE is a lower clocked 8500 while a 9000 pro is almost the same as a 8500 excluding i think one texture pipeline or something like that... Which puts the performance at about the same..

I hate sapphire. They put 5ns mem on the 8500 128mb I recieved by mistake. Heck the 7500 BBA has 4ns mem even. So if you want slower mem than a 7500 on a 8500 I guess its ok, but useless. I really orderd the ati 8500 BBA with 3.3ns mem. That mem on the sapphire could be anywhere from 5ns- 3.6ns. Your taking a big chance on that.

Well this card said specifically it had the 3.6ns memory on it.

Or should i go with the 8500 LE made by ATI for $109 from ENPC

    PowerColor is worse.

BTW P4gamer, Anandtech said that sapphire makes the BBA cards as well, which is interesting. Why would they put lower rated memory on their own then

I suppose they want to have their own line that costs less than the BBA....

Yeah i'm going with the 8500LE... Now on the brand thing...

Seriosly is Sapphire that bad? Because my dad isnt letting me spend the extra $10 on the ATI version(its for a christmas present and for the Sapphire version he's paying $20 more on me then my sister)...

I mean... can you seriously tell the difference between 3.3ns and 3.6 ns... Thats going to what drop me by like 2fps?

I tried to tell ya. I even took pics before I sent it back to newegg of the crappy 5ns mem thats junk. Thats so people will believe, twas about to post them. NO Sapphire does not make the bba radeons at all. Only ATI factorys do. Spapphire is a member of the "ati partner program" nothing more. And they are junk IMHO. The one I had scored about 5000+ on 3dmark. LOL thats worse than my G3 which got 6500. This BBA one though hehe, now it beats the G3 hands down. So yep, there is a HUGE dif and def. worth $10 more.

Check out Thresh's Firing Squad. They do areview of the new DirrectX9 API and ATI's Catalyst 3.0 drivers. They benchmarked the 9700 pro, 9500pro, 9000pro and the 8500pro. The 9000pro while getting beat by the 9700 and 9500 easily beat down the 8500....

I think you need to read that again

all of the graphs shows the 8500 beat the 9000 in every area with 3.0 or 2.5
