    I don't have that motherboard/cpu anymore, but if I did, I could:

    Run it as a 266 k6/2

Declock the graphics card to roughly half speed

Remove ram to make it have 64mb

    Turn on "Active Desktop"

And then it would have been really slow!
This is where my signature would go if I wasn't so lazy.

Why do that? Just set the hardware video acceleration to zero, and force software in everything.

good idea! I was thinking the same thing last night regarding hardware acceleration. We've been trying to fix the rendering issues (another thread) on this kyro; one suggestion was to lower the amount of hardward acceleration. Then it occurred to me that would be a GREAT UN-TWEAK!!!

Then, go and disable all the file-locking semantics and all that "dangerous" stuff.

You can get your K6-2 to about 500 or so... if you have a good HSF... just a pointer.

So I was running an experiment yesterday...

I didn't realize how much the Nvidia Texture Sharpening could lower one's score.

I enabled it on my "Rig" and took a ~10% performance hit. I realize the Kyro I'm sabotaging won't have this setting, but I'll come up with something...

Actually Tojo, that link is someone else's score. My Kyro's score is listed in that same post.

Hey OpK Chowdy, I'm excited to see YOUR scorez ....

MY KyroII has become homeless once more.

My brother liked having a faster card, so yesterday he and I went up to Totally Awesome and had an Asus Geforce 4 ti 4200 installed. Now his untweaked scores are up to 6200. Oh yeah, we had a new power supply installed too. I'll have to think of somewhere else to put this 'different' kind of card. Maybe ebay...?

This is probably good for a loss of a few thousand 3d marks.

Due to tojism, the other thread got closed, , sorry B. Quix.

    BTW Calvin,
    That's me!

I have a really good teacher for Cisco. He knows what he's talking about, and is funny. We get to play cstrike after tests, too.
Would the Teacher's last name happen to be Smith?
