I love old instruments.
I buy old instruments and rebuild them just to hear them sing again. I can’t play worth a plug nickel but I like ‘em anyway. I especially like classic vintage guitars. The worse they look the more I like them. I lose money fixing them! Is this obsessive behavior?

Deaf people build Kamaka Ukuleles which is the biggest ukulele factory in Hawaii and one of the best in the world. They have hired them for many years. The founder discoved that deaf people can judge the tone on the sound board better by feel of the vibration. This tone is achieved by sanding the top just right. Some wood is harder then others so the top thickness is not a constant. I read he has blind people working there too.

Sounds like what you might call a hobby. Hobbys usually aren't money making operations. I guess you have to draw the line somewhere on the amount of time and money you put into them or they will become obcessions. Not too much, not too little, balance in all things.

Wow! Nice instrument. I used to play wind instruments until I lost some fingers. My favorite was the flute.

The Gretsch guitars are going up in value every day. It amazes me what Gibsons are worth considering they were relativly cheap to begin with.

Some are worth a lot more then others. They were made by Gibson but were really budget guitars compared to most other good electrics. The older it is the more it is worth if it is still in good condition. Post a picture and serial number. I'll look it up for you if you like.
