    LINUX RIP

If l understand the bill us politicians are debating on mandatory copy protection hardwired into media pcs, Linux etc will actually be outlawed
in the usa unless it conforms. IF it can conform that is.

    Why go out and protest?

Just download a distro and install it.
This is where my signature would go if I wasn't so lazy.

That will only mean any new distros developed after the law is passed. That and they would also like to outlaw building your own PC. So all the software developers and hardware manufacturers should just pack it up and call it a day ?. Sorry kingston you can only sell ram to federally licsensed builders. Yeah thats gonna work.

l find this situation difficult to understand.

Content providers assume that pc copying has undermined their market.

It doesn't seem to have accured that there are other reasons..
    lets start with -
the generally poor quality of music which is poured out - no one is prepared to pay for ****.
A paradigm shift in viewing\listening habits ... why buy **** just turn on MTV or The Box etc.. allways on.
The absolute rip off dvd\cd prices. Anyone with a burner knows exactly how much a cd actually costs to produce.

    and on an on...

The will just do what Kazaa does, remove the servers and anything involving them for the U.S

Kazaa's main servers ect are based on a small Island country off the coast of Australia, so the US can't get them. Pretty smart huh?
