Comp crash?
My computer will not boot anymore. It turns on, but after the opening BIOS screen, it sez "EL" or E1. Is this a hard drive failure or a boot sector problem? Oh yeah, nothing happens after that. It doesnt hang, but it doesnt go anywhere either.

First, check to make sure all the wires are in properly, and everything external is a-ok. Then, unplug your hard drive, and plug it into a working computer (remove computer B hard drive first, fort safty precautions). See what happens. If it boots, its not your hard-drive. If it doesnt boot, its time for the old

I take it you can't boot the system from a start-up disk...
If you can get into the BIOS, try setting the failsafe or BIOS default settings.
If you can't get into the BIOS, use another computer to download the latest BIOS file for that make and model of motherboard from the maker's site.
Prepare a reflash boot disk, and try reflashing the BIOS.
If that doesn't work, it looks as if the motherboard has died.
