Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB + Athlon XP 2400+ (overclocked) = kickass!!!
Here is my 3D Mark 2001 SE Pro's benchmark result. BTW, I have an Athlon XP 2400+ (overclocked to 2.18 GHz, which is a little bit faster than an Athlon XP 2600+) and an ATi Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB graphics card. These two definitely kick some serious a** when you put them together!!!

The only settings I changed in 3D Mark 2001 SE Pro is the resolution (set to 1024x768), color depth (set to 32-bit), and the frame buffer (set to triple instead of double). The settings for Direct3D and OpenGL are balanced between performance and quality. Also, consider that my CPU is overclocked from 2.00 GHz to 2.18 GHz (2400+ to 2600+). That's all. No BS in this benchmark, I guarantee you.

Care to tell us why your uber-machine couldn't get that score at default settings?
Logan
If he's truthful then it would be that he only ran the first four tests to get a score. I know this because I told him that was all he needed to do... 3dmark does only counts the game tests because cards without pixel shaders would get unusually low, untrue performance scores otherwise.
I looked it up in THG and 14000-something is about right for a 2700+ and R300 combo.
I have a 2.8ghz intel, with the 9700pro and my best score
using default settings and all the tests was
13700
No overclocking whatsoever.
Im not sure if that is good or bad!

Gen_Hideki_Tojo - Could you stop posting bmps and start posting compressed images? (jpegs and the like) I am blessed with a fat pipe, but not everyone else here is.
You paid about $600 at least more for a system that only gets 2500 more 3dmarks than my xp2000 and ti4200? I question your common sense.
This is where my signature would go if I wasn't so lazy.

Wait, I had 12,600 and he had 14,200
so 14,200 - 12,600 = 1,600 more
The SATs have burnt out my math skills.
Gen_Hideki_Tojo must have payed at least $600 more than me for his system - mine is probably under $800 total
So I paid 6 cents per 3dmark and he paid 9 cents per 3dmark.
muhahaha!

Giblet Plus, Tojo is that way... he doesn't see through the fact that he has already been beaten and he isn't really far ahead of the rest of us.
There isn't a system out there I have seen that is by leaps and bounds a whole lot faster than my machine, an XP 1800+ and "slow" PC2100 that I bought half a year ago.
Really, there isn't.
At least not without dryice and LN2...
And I paid $1200 for my system, inc. Ti 4200, CD burner, LCD monitor and koolance.
