    2.8Ghz Problem! =/

I ordered a combo Motherboard and 2.8Ghz Pentium 4 CPU, I installed everything into my case, and when I boot up it reads the CPU speed as 2.10 Ghz Rather then 2.80, I then go into my BIOS and set it 133/100 CPU Frequeny: 133 DRAM Frequency:100
It boots up into 2.80 like it should but becomes unstable and freezes or reboots all together I don't know whats is wrong with it, if you could write back with information it would be greatly appreciated thnx!, By the way what is DRAM Frequncy maybe Memmory? I have PC2400 512 DDR Ram to ,

Sorry For posting so much but, is there a program rather than BIOS where I can set the Memmory and FSB Clock Speed, I dont know if Im doing it correcly in BIOS so i wanted to know if there is a program that will run on XP OS, if so please tell me and Ill use it to set my FSB and Memmory Speeds..., when I did that would I then overclock it in the BIOS to 2.8 and hopefully it would run stable?

Yes, you should update your bios - *if there are significant revisions available*. Updates sometimes fix stability problems with overclocking. I had to update mine in order to use the higher settings.

Zypha is right. FSB and RAM timings like to be synched as much as possible.

Did you say Dram as in sdram, or ddr?

    ....

Come to think of it, if you bought/ordered a 2.8, you shouldn't have to overclock to get 2.8 . Where did you get this thing from? It's possible you were accidentally or intentionally sold a chip with a screwy multiplier or something. If I was in your place, I would definitely be sending some unhappy correspondence toward the seller.

    My Computer Specs Are:

    OS-Windows Xp Home Edition Build(2600)

    CPU Type-Intel Pentium 4 2.80Ghz,(Running At 2.09 =/)5.25x400
    Current Clock:2100Mhz
    Maximum Clock:2800Mhz
    External Clock:100Mhz
    Voltage:3.3V,2.9V,

    Motherboard:ECS Group, P4S5A/DX (533 Mhz Bus)v1.0

    Memmory:PC2100 512MB DDR

    BIOS Type:AMI (06/10/02) Version: 0.700T
    Release Date: (04/02/01)

    GPU:nVIDIA GeForce 2 GTS 64MB

Yes, I can make the "DRAM" In The Bios Go up To 166mhz But not the CPU Frequency the highest it will go is 133, but it keeps rebooting or freezing or giving me the blue screen error, Is there anyway I can take a screen shot of my BIOS?, And if it isn't any trouble if you could possibly find me a BIOS update I'm not exactly sure on what to get from the site I tried, It would be grealy appreciated Thnx! ps, I ordered this from bzboys.com the mobo and cpu combo it was the...P4S4A/DX w/P4 2.8 Ghz,

I have a 550 W Power Supply that came with the case that said its p4 ready, and complient, I set teh "DRAM" Frequancy to 166 and the CPU to 100 it boots to 2.80 but reboots when I get to the desktop, then if I set the DRAM to 166 and the CPU to 133 it gives me that blue error screen during startup, thanks for lookin for a patch for me
