I guess it all depends upon your tatse.

Horror - The Exorcist (scared the sh*t out of me as a kid and is a classic)
Drama - Shashank Redemption, Amistad, Mr. Holland's Opus, etc...
Comedy - Robinhood Men in Tights, The Princess Bride, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Time Bandits, As Good As It Gets, etc...
Sci-Fi / Fantasy - Aliens (the original), The Road Warrior, Conan the Barbarian, The Dark Crystal, etc...
Westerns - Tombstone, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, almost any Clint Eastwood flik
    Porn - who watches that
Cult - Army of the Dead, Sid and Nancy, Blue Velvet
And the list goes on and on and on...................

If you want to try something off the beaten path, try "My Wife is a Gangster." It's a Korean comedy. It's the type of comedy in which the situation is weird and everyone is playing it straight. Rather than a straight situation that everyone tries to be a baffoon.

A bizarre Korean comedy, "Attack the Gas Station!" A bit long for the subject matter. But a flick well worth seeing.
