SP2 or SP3 for Win2k
Your thoughts please. I'm finally trashing my dual boot 98SE/2k system and moving to standalone Win2k.
Which SP you've had the least problems with would be appreciated.
Specs:
Ga-7DXR
Tbird 1.4
256 DDR
Radeon 9000 pro
Would NTFS be a more prudent installation option?

SP 3 will screw things up if youve got an illegit copy of 2k.
I use SP 2 and its okay.. reading the spec for SP3 i couldnt really see a lot to my interests and a few ppl have reported that it slows 2k down a lil bit...
Still id avise you if you got a legit copy to give it a go - its always good to be up to date

Service pack 3 all the way.
I find it, it makes w2k more stable than it was before.
I have never noticed a performance drop since I installed it.
It's better to burnout than fade away!

SP3 is a non sense
just a bunch of old craps
go ahead and install SP3, but it adds a lot of junks inside your PC
i don't see much benefits between SP2 and SP3
just some extra features that i can already get with X-Setup

I think I'll try SP2 first and see how it goes.
That's not gonna happen til at least Sunday though ;(.

I have SP3 on my work machine and it has helped alot (apps, errors, etc), however I do not know what it would do to a gaming machine in terms of speed.

Stark Raving MOD
I'm on the fence about sp2 and sp3. I'm running sp3 and I haven't had problems so far, but it does add some stuff to comply with the DOJ.
I think you should stay at FAT32 for now, especially since you are dual booting.

Using SP3 here with no problems whatsoever. Ofcourse, I'd recommend that you disable the automatic update feature (which doesn't require any deep probing to locate the options, similar to XP). As far as gaming performance is concerned, my box is still running as smooth as ever. I say go for it. It never hurts to stay up-to-date.
