It would be good if we could recruit several more people crunching 100+ WU/day. That would be great for the team. We've broken the 500th place for Club Teams and are getting close to the 1000th place for All Teams on the Seti@Work lists. Overall, we're crunching about 400 WU/day now and we're coming up on 50,000 WUs crunched in total.

January I get a new budget. The old Compaq p3-500's get retired and they'll probably be replaced with circa 2ghz systems. With half a dozen of those putting out 6+ wu's each a day plus my two home machines I should be able to squeeze out 40+ WU's a day.

I'm thinking I might just stack up all the old Compaqs and have them crunch full time.

It's a far cry from 100, but every little bit helps.

Sounds like you might be leaving gib in your dust.
Every bit does help, even if it's a pile of older CPUs.

BTW, I just got the PO's signed for the new computers, so I'm off to fax in the order to Dell for the 2- 2.8GHz dual Xeons and 3- 2.66 GHz P4s. I can't wait for them to show up. Now I have to figure out what I want for UPS's for them and if I need to add another AC circuit into the computer room to handle them.

tking- I can never beat you as you have office computers, which are not yours. It is almost cheating.

The more, the merrier; as far as CPUs you can find to run Seti on and people that will join us anyway.

Well see smithdw you have no competition as you just blow through everyone, but it is a batlle for others to get a higher place. We all aren't blessed to have 100 computers to run seti on.

I want to be in the top 10 at least.

According to seti@work you should be in the top 10 in about 2-3 months.

It wasn't all that long ago that I got Seti running on all the computers at work too. I only had my Athlon system at home.

well, looks like the battle between me and tick isn't over yet, he was ahead of me again the other day and in the last 72 hours it's changed about 4 times.

    what a race.

come on tick, you can do better than that.

Unless I can get my average above 35 wu's a day I won't be making any moves for awhile.

    Yes it is!

But what is really mine? Is mine like my cousin's or my friends?

In the greater scheme of things we never really own anything, we are all just dust in the wind. I just happen to be dust with access to more computers!

I'm still enjoying the battle Gib, even if your Alliance is not the cohesive (yet old and sad) network I have access to.

Sterling_Aug seems to be quietly sneaking up the ranks too. might have me caught before long if he picks those numbers up a little bit.

Although, my flagship PC is down now for the third day, not sure if it will be up tonight or not.
