    huh, cool Fonts

I don't have time to get the joke right now, but in the Bios Screen shot, the words Athlon XP "Barton" seems to be fake,

    I have Photoshop too

there's not even a chance that that's a genuine screenshot. If you look closely the Athlon 'Barton' part is a pixel too small and offset a pixel too high. not to mention slightly different fonts being used.

Anyone with even an ounce of sense would have made the Athlon 'Barton' bit out of existing characters and cut/pasted them one at a time.

    Amateur!

And ANOTHER thing I noticed is that the 2 CPU pics are identical excapt for the fact that the central core is larger on the second one. if you save them and use ACDsee or similar to 'flick' from one to another there isn't a single pixel out of place, even the serial numbers on the right is the same.

how dumb can people really be?

I don't know why you guys are trashing this satire.

#1 You SHOULD be able to recognize that it's a fake
#2 You SHOULD be able to recognize from reading the article that he's MAKING SATIRE
#3 NOBODY would believe this article
    #4 It's a JOKE.

Now, knowing the above, there's no reason to not look past the blatantly obvious and see the joke for what it is. Jeez peeps, smile more often and don't take things so bloody seriously.

some with **** 99.9% real TechNet stuff

they actually managed to mask their Domain as ms Technet, full path

the only dead give away was the article page itself that was ~<page name>.html

but you were able to click on the other stuff that really went back and forth between the real stuff.

Scan through the WHOLE article. Pages three and four is where the good stuff is. Initially, it had me stumped too, untill I read this section: (Conclusion)
    Sysmark 2002
While benchmarking our test platforms with Sysmark, we got some unexpected results that we are still investigating more in detail. It seems the bigger cache and higher FSB of the Barton severly skew the results of this popular benchmark. We suspect AMD improved the Barton core specifically to perform better on this benchmark. Therefore, we refrain from publishing our results until AMD can give us a a good explication why the Barton outperforms the P4 on this test.

Yeah guys...lighten-up! This article IS funny, but you have to read the whole thing to appreciate it.

    Funny... but legal?

Doesn't this violate the copyright THG has on their information... hilarious though... I always thought THG made a big issue out of miniscule differences or advantages... it's good someone finally brought this to light...

Look at the right corner of the screen shot. It says "Tom'z Hardware Tribe" with a totem pole as a symbol. Gosh, everyones running at 7500 RPM's these days. No wonder they don't think this was funny. They missed half the jokes in the spoof cause they didn't slow down long enough to take a good look.
