    another newbie queation

    this is the first really good video card i have ever owned. it is the msi ti4200-td...128mb ddr..... it has its owned clock speed program...my question is...will it damage the card to speed it up? i really dont want to trash this card.. thanks....sam

    overclocking in moderation is ok, I have my Gainward 700XP (Ti4400) slightly overclocked....but I don't really want to burn up my £250 investment

    Overclock the memory slowly slowly, say 10mhz at a time, then run 3dmarkl or a game for a while, then go up another 10Mhz and repeat. repeat until image errors/teraing appears, then drop back 10Mhz.

    Do the same for the core speed, but dont push very far as theyre more succeptible to damage.

    Overclocking will void your warranty (unless its a gainward card), and reduce the lifespan of your card... but hey when its gonna be obsolete in 4 years time - who cares

    Well you know running it at 201 is better! Let me tell you a little something. Man is greedy with speed of all of his things.. Like if you gota car and you can make it faster by cleaning some ports on it then you would because it makes you faster... People are never happy if we were then we wouldnt have a reason to continue onward in life if we were happy with everything. You might be happy with the card but theres a little thought that floats in your mind what if I could get 201 that would be awesome.. !!! GO FOR IT !!!

    I get around 400+ fps with my mx 200!


    I would get only 30-50 fps!
