ANTIX: You're welcome, but many of us WEREN'T aware of it. (I wasn't, at least not thru Sysopt.) Just thought it'd be helpful to some of us "less-educated". Guess I should take my act elsewhere.

Dont do that. The link will benefit others new to the K7S5A. The links are very good help. Thanks for posting them up again.

True, new users may not know about it, but the K7S5A is an aging product that (X) amount of people have, and ocworkbench is the first thing that pops up in google when you match K7S5A + overclocking.

no offense. i love the boards, but i find it rude for people to say "I already knew that." to a helpful post. It's like shoving a newly opened christmas gift back into the giver's hands saying "i already have that toy." The only time someone should say "i already know that" is when there is another thread on the same topic currently being discussed on the same board.

Just wanted to say thanks!
I O/Ced my XP 1800 Palomino to 1900 (1600Mhz from 1533), and then to 2100 settings (1733Mhz). All I had for heat increase was a 4 degree increase in idle temperature as reported by SpeedFan and confirmed by my BIOS monitor (from 48C to 52C).
Just exploring some more high-volume fans before I leave it at that setting... I've turned it back down for now to stock until I get some more cooling in place.
Thanks again!

It's called one word, "research". Many ways to do that. One of my work colleagues had a perfect saying: "What does Google have to say?"

"What does Google have to say?"
I don't know what Google has to say, but my father had a better saying, Antix. "If you don't have something good to say, shut the f**k up!"
As I understand it, these forums are here to HELP. Pointing out another's "lack of knowledge" does nothing to enhance Sysopt or life in general. People come here seeking help or to help others. If you'd rather not, please don't waste time, space or oxygen!
[end rant]

You people down south always have to swear to get your point across, don't you? sheesh. I feel no point in continuing this pointless feud anymore, I am only stating the obvious since the K7S5A is due to becoming a "legacy" item. BTW: Didn't your father teach you manners, or do you just listen to "My name is whuuut?.." all the time.
