    windows media player problems

I'm running wmp 6.4 under win2k and every video file i open whether it be avi or mpeg, will click and speed up the play after every time i advance in the clip. This has happened to me twice now and i reinstalled and a few weeks later the problem reoccurred again. Any suggestions on how to make the skipping and clicking go away from my videos when i play them? thanks.

Try freeing up system resources on your system. This is particulary important for larger video files. Maybe installing the latest video card drivers may help.

Check if DirectX is installed correctly and that you have a windows video card and sound card that is 100% compatible.
If the video is in another codec, install it.

You could also try installing WMP 7.0. I would delete your current version of WMP, then d/l 7.0.

WMP 7 dials home at every oppertunity, fix and stick with 6.4 or d\l a different player completely.

    Try here,

    Better Still, Try This One
