Go for a Marmite sandwich with anything.
The best is a good rye bread, butter, marmite, sliced (tasty) tomatoes on the marmite, a good stiff cheddar sliced on top with a dash of mayo on the lid.

My fav but my wife has stopped buying jam(jelly to those over there, I think)

Thick doorstopper bread, spread equally thickly with strawberry jam, works with blackcurrant and rasperry as well, and add several slices or quarter inch thick extra mature farmhouse cheddar cheese, you won't be disappointed or hungry for a month, wash down with apint of ice cold milk.

    Heaven.............

might try that pie recipee, what kinda pie?

and Optimus, where did you get your eel droppings?

You know... between this and the "see you in five days" post/replies, makes me think the Brits are taking over the bloody forums.

How the Hell can any logical, rational human even consider Marmite, pickled "anything," "seafood sauce" (which, I guess, is some SE Asia dried fish paste "sauce") and salt, SALT and more SALT.... the makings of a sandwich???

How about a nice (hot, lean) Pastrami and (hot, lean) Corned Beef, supplemented with some mild saurkraut and Thousand Island dressing, paper thin slices of red or Bermuda (or Vidalia) onion, with Koop's or Brown's mustard, on rye bread?

Or better yet... a Chicago style red hot:
    all beef Frankfurter,
    steamed poppyseed bun,
the "Garden" (tomato, onion, relish, sport pepper, pickle and/or cucumber), plus celery salt,
swath of yellow "Ballpark" (or better, brown) mustard...
Now that's some good eating... and most members of the human race could even stomach it! Unlike Marmite and (pre-emptively) Vegemite!

Jam and jelly are dif. Atleast here. I know my mom cans homemade. Jam has pices of fruit in it floating about and Jelly is pure liquid with no fruit in it floating around!
