    Java Script ????

    I am running Win95, Version 4.00.950B with IE 5.5. Recently I cannot access certain pages. I get "javascript:cl(62431,3276982);" which tells me nothing.
    Can I be helped?

    Have you changed your security settings recently? Under Internet Options, if you have IE, click the Security tab. Check and make sure that you have enabled Active X, which is Microsoft's version of Javascript.

    If you know that the websites are working try installing build 3805 of virtual machine and then try it. It can't hurt to try.

    Tried that too and it didn't work.
    As an example, if I go to: http://www.tvguide.com/listings/ and click on any of the listings, I get: javascript:cl(62431,444246);

    I've searched on Google and Microsoft's Knowledge Base and I think that your javascript problems lies with the websites and not you. It might be that the site was programmed wrong and your broswer can't read it correctly.

    You might very well be right. Would you go to: http://www.tvguide.com/listings and click on any program and see if it will open the info on the program. It will NOT open for me. It says "Error on the page"

    I get the info about any program. Maybe you have a old page still in your cache. If you have IE, go into Tool then Internet Options. Choose to Clean History. Then, go to Temporary Internet Files (which is above the Clean History button) and choose Delete Files. You can also choose Settings and delete the files manually if you have cookies and other important material in there.

    Make sure you have "Active Scripting" enabled in your browser. If all the settings look correct and it still doesn't work.....repair Internet Explorer.

    Also, are you running an Ad/Pop-up blocker?
