The only game that I know of which can take advantage of SMP is Quake 3 Arena:

    http://www.quake3world.com/demo/teamarena.html

To enable SMP support, bring down the console with the ~ key and type the command:

    \r_smp 1

    Follow this command with:

    \vid_restart

Frankly, SMP if not the best way to approach gaming. It's actually slower than single-CPU. If you can use SMP for another program, however, it's a keeper!

Thanks, don't know what SMP is, I'm still new to this stuff. I eventually want to convert old analog videos to digital and heard that dual CPUs are way to go.

yeah it took me a while to warm up to Civ3 but I love it now, except the dirty rotten cheating comp! but the new 1.21 patch took care of alot of issues. Still having a hard time using Cavarly against Spearmen (Knights work better statistically against em, dont know how or why but they do!)

One thing I hate about civ3 is you can have a tank attack a archer.

Why the hell would it be like that in history. The computer usually never had old units in Civ 2. and Lenoardos workshop upgraded all you guys if you built it so you moved along to age to age with everything upgrading. So in 2000AD you dont have 300 archers 400 spearmen and 200 warriors. That really make me mad.

Try it on a harder level, and u'll be the one with archers drooling over their tanks. Well maybe on the hardest level, but I hear ya. I just lost a battleship to a group of 4 Triemes. Expalin that one, the wake alone would crush the triemes.

Exactly what I am talking about. What weapon would a trieme use against a battleship?
