What is truly the heart of your system ?

Some people say CPU, others the mainboard. Someone even suggested that the PSU is beccause without that nothing goes.

I know some people will try and be cocky and say 'Well a computer needs everyhting to work' yeah, I know.

But personally, for you all..... whats the heart of YOUR system. ?

Which one do you stare at, think about, talk about even w*** about ?????

    Post your things here !!!

The whole (system) is greater than the sum of its parts...

Geez... is your liver more important than your kidneys or heart???

Which, if removed, kills you faster... your brain or your blood???

I guess PC-wise, the one things that probably has the most apparent impact on system performance is TA DA the video card... the gpu and vid ram can make or break the apparent, visual performance.

    Anyway, that's my opinion...

    PS: interesting question posed here....

I could see... possibly... sitting on a mini-tower, and maybe using a desktop as an ottoman... but a full tower wouldn't be very confortable... well... maybe as a bar stool... hhmmmmm

Another vote for OS, without mr. gates how many people do you think would have computers. Sure their is Linux, but could your grandma learn it? or your Mom?

    2 things:

Dragon Orb 3: Great fan and awesome design

GeForce 3 Ti: Inno3D makes some beautiful frickin cards, this one is no exception!

Of course, every part has a play in the computer. With the exception of the Sound card, without a certain something, the computer don't work. Now that's teamwork!

    Out of left field:

How about the Monitor, that's what you spend all your time looking at?

Other than that, I tend to go with PSU, it's the heart, motherboard's the CNS, and the CPU's the brain.

The most important part of the computer is the stupid $0.37 power cord. I somehow lost all of mine after moving once and didn't discover it until late Saturday night. The Radio Shack didn't open on Sundays, so I had to wait until Monday!! I was there at 9am, but the Manager was late so it meant I had to wait EVEN LONGER!!!

This discussion reminds me of my days in the ARMY. In the Armed Services, every MOS claims that they are the most important. I usually won each argument, though, because I was 'supply'. Without supply, you get no clothes, food, blankets, etc. I WIN.
    blah.

    Owwwwwwwwww

    Don'tcha hate that.

(So speaketh the man who was looking for one for a Duron 850 system and found a spare in every room in the house.)

Actually I keep a lot of those on hand, it's especially handy for troubleshooting new systems to have spare power cords on your power bar.

Hmmm... Well i'm pretty fond of the entire system cuz I built it... But the parts I like showing off would be the PNY GF4 Ti4400 (runs RTCW@1600x1200x32 with all the detail levels set to the highest levels and still gives me 80fps), the Volcano7+ HSF (that thing looks sweet) and my EPoX 8K3A+ mobo... That boards got a lot of nice features. I wouldn't say any one of those is more important than the other, but those are the parts I like to show-off to my other dorky computer budds.

    Okay heres my legacy.....

CPU - Brain - A **** one means ****ness all around.

Mobo - Heart - Without, there is no action.

IDE/Power Cables - Veins&Arteries - Linking vital organs of sillicon.

OS - Blood - It needs to be running all the time.

HDD/Memory - Mind - Storage and feelings, my computer usually crashes by exceptions in RAM frequencies (when it rarely crashes).

Vid Card - Eyes - Very Important, can make or break how hot girls look, in real life/on the screen.

PSU - Digestive system, convertion of raw power to useable resources.

HS/Fans - Clothing - Some are frilly but generally, most do the same job.
