I HATE WIN 2K!
It's giving me these errors below, and when it does, it slows the system down so much you can't do a thing with it, untill it finally dumps the memory, and reboots itself.

With all those warnings I would expect a Will Robinson in there somewhere!
Sorry I couldn't be of any help, but I have no idea. I just felt like making a stupid joke.
I'm sure someone with more knowledge of such things will be along soon.
Might want to check the disks for errors, also maybe some new cables...at least jiggle them. There is some sort of comunication error it looks like.
Things that make you go HMMMMMM...

I hate Win2K too but only when I'm not loving it.
Depending on chipset, I would refresh the chipset drivers. Intel, SiS, ALi and VIA all offer driver update packages.
I would also open a command prompt and type CHKDSK C: /F /R to check the drive for errors.
Frankly, I get these errors a lot too. I ignore Event Viewer's whining until there's a problem that I can detect.

Try to obtain your latest motherboard drivers for win2k from the motherboard manafacturer.
Or you can replace the ides cable.
There is also a posibility you have a problem ide controller or motherboard.
Good luck.

You could try setting your bios to boot from cdrom, stick your win2k disk in, bootup and run repair.
