Is this a desktop or laptop portable drive? "My Book" usually refers to a desktop drive with a separate AC adapter. That's why I asked for the model number.

The button to the left of "Auto" is the "Source" button. Look at the icon.

Did you try a different port on the router also? I don't see a Belkin F80 listed. Is that the right model number?

What is the exact model number of the monitor? As SpywareDr said, there should be a button to switch or detect digital/analog modes.

I wouldn't spend money on such an old system. I'd focus on the laptop first.
