Well really it is basically "I can't get an ip address on the NET Adaptor. Its the TI IEEE 1394 using a Microsoft driver.....I can get the vers if neded.

I got a new SATA drive, loaded XP...

Well....I may have fixed it actually. I knew I also had a re-director, so I downloaded "Hijack This" and ran it.......closed my eyes and checked some stuff :) and low and behold upon restart things...

I suspect it's HDD trouble, certainly related. After I start my PC (WinXP) I get this error..."Critical Error.....Hard Drive Not Found....Missing Hard Drive"

Should I just go get a new one and...

OK....what's the deal? Is it available? Is it going to do something important for me? Wht\at's new in it, and should I have it?

That's what I thought, and I have the host PC on...printer hooked to it and it works. I set-up the printer to be shared.....I've tried all variations of "add printer" and it finds the other...
