If your using Win2000, I have never had a problem with defragging even with my 2000 server, although I do recommend you use diskeeper and not the cut down version within 2000.

Depends on your board, find the cmos jumper, if its set to 1 & 2, set it to 2 & 3 or vice versa.

Apart from clearing cmos, there is a hidden setting which allows you to ticker with the bus speed...

Try running the audio tests from dxdiags to see if your direct sound drivers are corrupt.

Try keyboard in another usb port as they can blow.

To clear cmos, remove power cable and battery from motherboard or use a ps2 keyboard to usb convertor.
