Have swapped power suppy for 450W unit - still same problem.

Anyone any other ideas cos I'm running out. Assume motherboard is faulty, although it appears to work fine just using the one DDR...

No - the 256Mb only works in the DDR1 slot.

I'm thinking the mobo is faulty, unless it is can be a power problem?

I have tried a stick in each slot, with the same result - only DDR 1 works.

The BIOS is the latest version.

Could it be a power problem? The PSU is a Mercury 300W.

I have tried to put the new RAM in slots DDR1 & DDR2, not DDR3.
The 1Gb sick will only work on DDR1, but I need to know why 2 x 1Gb will not...
