Like progams that let you access a computer on a remote network.

programs i know of are VNC, and pcanywhere.

So I'm just wondering what ones are best etc.

I know that vnc has a free version...

Curious about vpn's a bit. Is there a way to set them up between 2 computers without a vpn router or a server? Using windows OS's not linux.
Just a simple one with pptp.

THanks for the info. it wasn't listed under critical i guess. it said high priority updates. anyhow i found the option to make it hidden in future scans so all is well now.

Here is what happends.

Using a geforce mx 420 on xp home machine. D/l the newest version of nvidia software,..77.72 i believe. then install that.

Then the critical update appears on...

I believe you just need to have a valid username and password when connecting with permissions to connect using a vpn.

I can't check it myself at this time however to verify if I am missing a...

if you do what pyssdogg says...what do the customers get for disks? Any? Do they have some way to put xp back on their machine if their drive failed?

I want to try and setup a small webserver (just to try a few things on) on an older machine with a 2-3 GB drive. So I was curious if people could suggest what flavor and version of Linux to install...
