i also replaced the desk.cpl file in c:\windows\system32 as possible solution just a couple minutes ago. and that didn't work.

in my display properties under desktop i cannot preview my wallpaper in c:\windows\web\wallpaper. the files are there just cannot view them under display properties. any ideas?
