is this true? if so- i cant use these extender devices!...

the received wifi signal on my kindle is very weak.

is there any way to boost this signal?

kindle has a micro usb connector on bottom..no other jacks/connectots etc.

The wifi is supplied by my landlord (apartment complex)

about 3x/week: my wifi ceases functioning (ie there is an "x" thru the wifi icon lower right portion of screen).

Trying "repair" does not fix

removing/replugging wifi adapter into different usb...

the only cure was a complete reinstall of win xp...thuis time: the install took 1 1/4 hours...the last took only 35 minutes....suspect last omitted many key files which caused the problem.

get the following message when the cd loads:

went in and then out of hi contrast moded....fixed the problem..

maybe it was caused by one of the microsoft updates???
