Both of my LG optical drives have the code 39 error. I have tried uninstalling and rebooting, to no avail. Drivers are very hard to find. I did find firmware updates, but I don't want to install them...

I tried again after cleaning the CD, to no avail.
I then put the HDD in an external enclosure, plugged it in to my "real" PC, and explored it.
It has a WIN98 folder with 101 files, mostly .CAB....
