This can be because of a default processor voltage regulation issue

Especially with the Soyo SY-K7VTA-B motherboard with the earliest BIOS, some motherboards have a automatic processor
voltage regulation problem of bug of setting it *too high*.
    You should check...

    Your processor is *unstable*

If you want to continue overclocking your AMD Athlon T-bird,
you *must* at least increase the processor voltage (Vcore)
to 1.85V. If the crashes still occur, you have *no choice* but to
    lower the...

    Use MSconfig

You have the limit RAM to option enabled, *only* for troubleshooting purposes. Use the MS config utility
to uncheck the limit RAM to option.

Well, I remember I used to have that kind of lockup crash, *even*
just sitting idle, even when I was in the middle of reading an AVG anti-virus help document, but I was using Windows 98 SE.
    The...

    Re: Chaintech CT-7AJA2E motherboard issue

Well, I hate to tell you, even when I reflash with
*any older BIOS*, still *no* Vcore select option.

    Re: Chaintech CT-7AJA2E motherboard issue

Yes, the manual *does* indicate I should have the
    CPU Vcore select.
  9. Sounds like a processor problem

    With the symptoms:

Win2000 exception or file error and then after rebooting,
a processor failure error from the BIOS are telltale signs that
the processor voltage is a high chance to be the...

    Re: Chaintech CT-7AJA2E motherboard issue

I *don't* want to raise the voltage!

But, what if the processor Vcore is too high?

    It's at 1.82V.

    Even if I want to, I can't change it to 1.79V .

I might be getting lockups if I cannot...
