ATI is pretty on the ball now. I haven't had a Nvidia card for awhile so I can't comment on their current driver quality, though I assume it's excellent.

It's not better, not worse, about the same. It's still an interlaced, analog TV signal so there isn't much a monitor can do to improve the quality.

I love my 8500, and i've yet to have a problem, other than Morrowind when it first came out.

Plextor's still my favorite, though they can be pricey.

ER, doesn't Win2k have a partition manager utility portion in setup? I know XP does, just as simple as deleting the NTFS partitions in XP setup then fdisking in DOS..

I don't see a CPU ruining a mobo, though I suppose if the CPU REALLY fries it could damage the CPU socket.
As far as vice versa, I don't know if a mobo candirectly do it, but if something kills...

It doesn't matter if you have a 10Ghz CPU, that card is too slow.
